A Position Paper Submission to the W3C Workshop on the Ubiquitous Web
نویسنده
چکیده
Culture dependent behaviour affects relations between groups and individuals. During the last decades there has been a dramatic increase in the importance of cross-cultural meetings and negotiations. The objective of our project is to design and implement a system that provides cross-cultural knowledge via mobile devices for people in international business meetings or in international research project meetings. For example, meeting rooms within companies can be regarded as interactive spaces and as being context-sensitive areas. By integrating ubiquitous computing, Semantic Web, RFID technology, context-aware computing and XML Topic Maps we can construct a crosscultural interactive space that will help people to better understand and adjust to cultural differences that may occur during the meeting. The research interests of the author are related to research on context awareness and application mobility for Web-based applications. The main focus is to explore and develop human centered Web technologies and to support human activities with these technologies.

The Metadata Ecosystem of DataID
The rapid increase of data produced in a data-centric economy emphasises the need for rich metadata descriptions of datasets, covering many domains and scenarios. While there are multiple metadata formats, describing datasets for specific purposes, exchanging metadata between them is often a difficult endeavour. More general approaches for domain-independent descriptions often lack the precisio...
متن کاملAn Executive Approach Based On the Production of Fuzzy Ontology Using the Semantic Web Rule Language Method (SWRL)
Today, the need to deal with ambiguous information in semantic web languages is increasing. Ontology is an important part of the W3C standards for the semantic web, used to define a conceptual standard vocabulary for the exchange of data between systems, the provision of reusable databases, and the facilitation of collaboration across multiple systems. However, classical ontology is not enough ...
متن کاملPosition Paper for W3C workshop on “Privacy for Advanced Web APIs”
Privacy has become critical for many Web APIs. Particular challenging are those APIs used in relation to techniques referred to as data mining, which task is to gain knowledge from personal information. In this paper some of these challenges are addressed, and it is our intention that this position paper may highlight the importance of common terms of use for handling such information. Our prim...
